GROUNDWORKS was organized by the Regina Gouger Miller Gallery at Carnegie Mellon University. The exhibition seeked to clarify the role of artists in questions of nature and culture. It featured artworks that are, in effect, case studies in social, ecological change. This exhibition and conference integrated more established practitioners with emerging groups in the United States, England, Austria, Japan and Argentina.
